What makes Nairobi National Park so unique? It’s the only park in the world located close to a capital city which means you don't need multiple flights or a full day on the road to get here. In fact, you’re in the National park spotting wildlife, just 20 minutes after leaving the airport.
It’s also known as one of the world’s best rhino sanctuaries, home to both the white and black rhino. Some of our guests have reported back to us, having spotted 22 rhino in one game drive!
At Ololo Safari Lodge, we offer you the unique opportunity to experience a safari without having to leave the city. Our 3-night, 4-day itinerary has been meticulously created to combine exhilarating wildlife adventures, luxurious relaxation, and immersive experiences in Nairobi.
This is a holiday plan designed for the discerning traveller seeking lasting memories.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND IMMERSION INTO THE WILD
Your Kenyan adventure begins when you land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Your safety and comfort is our priority so regardless of your flight time, an Ololo Safari Lodge representative will greet you warmly, and facilitate your transportation to the lodge. This journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how many animals you spot along the way.
Once you enter the park, you’ll experience an exciting game drive as you make your way to the lodge. This journey offers a first glimpse of Africa’s diverse wildlife. Depending on the time of day and season, look out for impalas, zebras, giraffes, lions and more. Be sure to ask your guide many questions, as they have in-depth knowledge on the wildlife and environment that we call home.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll be met with a warm welcome briefing. Our friendly staff will guide you to your spacious and elegantly furnished room, your private haven for the next few days.
If you arrive during the day, you’ll later indulge in a delectable three-course dinner prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from our Ololo Organic Farm. Savour the flavours and share stories and drinks around the fireplace.
For late night arrivals, we’ll have some hot soup ready for you (our tomato soup has built a reputation!), and your favorite glass of wine. If you’re arriving late, you’ll probably want to head straight to your room and get some rest, before a big day of activities!
DAY 2: ADVENTURE AND RELAXATION
Rise before the sun and enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee and biscuits before setting off for your early morning game drive in Nairobi National Park. This is prime time to witness the park come alive as most animals tend to seek shelter from the midday sun. Keep a lookout for lions, leopards, zebras, ostriches and a plethora of other fascinating animals and birds.
After 3-4 hours on safari, you’ll return to the lodge for breakfast with a view and serene ambiance. Once done and when you’re ready, you’ll be guided through the Ololo Farm where you’ll explore regenerative farming practices, gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of our commitment to sustainability and perhaps collect an egg or two (if you’re lucky). Witness first hand where most of the food you’ll consume comes from and how responsible practices contribute to a healthier environment.

Following the farm tour, take the chance to unwind by the pool with a drink as you await a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, take a 25 minute scenic walk—accompanied by a guide—to Kitengela Hot Glass, to experience live glass-blowing demonstrations. Observe the artistic process of transforming molten glass into exquisite creations and take the opportunity to purchase unique souvenirs handcrafted by skilled local artisans.
When the day cools, you’ll walk back to the lodge in time for another captivating game drive. Witness the changing landscape in the afternoon light and keep a lookout for wildlife.
You’ll then return to the lodge for dinner and a chance to unwind by the fireplace.
DAY 3: CULTURAL EXPLORATION AND WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS
Prepare for the day ahead with an early breakfast at the lodge before heading out for a game drive on your way to Daphne-Sheldrick's Elephant Orphanage which is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned elephant calves. Watch them feed the herd as you learn about their incredible conservation efforts.

Confirmation of successful bookings will be emailed to you, and must be brought with you on the date of your visit, in digital or printed form. Extra donations are $20 per adult, and $5 per child under 12 years.
After your visit to the elephants, head out with your guide on an excursion into town where you have the opportunity to visit different sites and attractions such as:

To ensure you fully enjoy your day out without any worries, our kitchen staff will pack you lunch which you can enjoy along the way.
Once your day adventure is done, you’ll make your way back to Ololo Lodge. Experience an exciting game drive on your way back and be on the lookout for one last chance to spot Africa’s wildlife.
DAY 4: FAREWELL TO THE WILD
Enjoy one last safari adventure with an early morning game drive. Capture lasting memories of sights and sounds of the African bush before returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Take the opportunity to enjoy our amenities one last time as you prepare for your departure.
For those who would like additional pampering, a rejuvenating massage at our spa is the perfect way to unwind before your departure. Alternatively, you can revisit the Ololo Farm and Furniture shop to purchase gifts and handcrafted souvenirs. Whether your flight is later in the day or you simply want to savour the tranquility a while longer, we invite you to relax and enjoy our facilities. We can provide additional meals upon request ensuring your comfort up until the last minute.
