Eco Ololo

Ololo is owned by an Australian farming family. We aim to follow the landowner’s ethos of practising sustainability today for a better future.

As part of our philosophy we have installed a ‘grey water’ recycling and filtering unit which treats all waste water. This water is then used in the Ololo gardens. Recycling and composting is second nature here, and the kitchen’s waste feeds our fat little hens.

Our water comes from our bore hole which is also used by the local community. The bore water is filtered for drinking and placed in jugs in our rooms to help eliminate the use of plastic bottles.

The Ololo shambas are extensive and most salad greens and vegetables are grown on the farm. Our chickens produce fresh yellow eggs year-round.
